What do I do?
Discover the four main design skills I specialize in
I'm versed in all kinds of design, but I have a lot of experience in four main areas. In each of the categories below, I show some of my best work, while explaining how I ensure that what I make is up to standard.
Don't see the type of design you're looking for?
Hello, I'm Stijn
Broad design skillset,
Long history in designing,
Wide interest in the world.
What can you expect from me?
From to idea to concept to design, I try to constantly keep in mind who I'm designing for. Using a personal and strategic approach, I want to truly understand you and your audience, to create something that gets the message across — whether you're addressing a large demographic or know your customers by name.
Strategic approach
I help you formulate what makes your company unique to create an effective brand.
Your style, my pleasure
I'm always experimenting and trying out new visual styles. What vibe are you going for?
Understanding users
I use UX principles to create designs that are meaningful and useful to your audience.
Proven track record
Over the years, I've succesfully completed many projects for all kinds of clients.

Sleek, fresh and playful
When we knew that with Mister Mill we wanted to fully focus on the pet industry, we needed a completely new look and feel. Stijn helped us with this, providing a complete rebranding. Stijn has original and unique ideas. The result is a fresh logo and sleek packaging, with a playful touch here and there. We are incredibly happy with it! In the coming years, we will keep working with each other a lot to further expand our assortment and its appearance with his fun ideas and creative results.

Definitely recommended for anyone who needs a logo or house style!

His approach really
appealed to us
Stijn designed a logo and brand identity for Delft Cymatics. His approach with multiple iteration and feedback rounds really appealed to us, because it involved us in the process and allowed us to give feedback in an efficiënt way. With a professional logo, Stijn helped us strike the right tone with potential clients. Additionally, he made several brand elements such as icons and PowerPoint templates for us, making it easy for us to apply our house style ourselves. We are very satisfied with the results!

Beautiful design that fits the theme every time
Every year, Stijn designs the poster for our Arts and Culture Week. He manages to surprise us with a beautiful design that fits the theme every time. We hope that this pleasant collaboration can continue for many more years!

What makes a good design?
Every part of a design is a conscious decision by its creator. Take a look at the interactive cards below, where I explain some of the design choices I've made in projects over the years.
For Mister Mill, I created packaging for most of their line-up of products. On each box, you can find Mister Mill taking his dog for a walk in the hills, evoking the theme of going on an adventure with your pet. Custom icons are also prominently featured.
More packaging
This is a small selection of the many custom icons I made for Mister Mill. The icons can be used for packaging, manuals, social media and more. They are in line with the soft and rounded aesthetic I chose for the brand.
The Mister Mill logo features a cute smiling dachshund, reflecting the company's focus on friendly and extensive service. It also emphasises the importance happiness of the customer's pets.
In making social media visuals, I used a mix of photos and illustrations. The posts feature pet tips, nice local places for walks, and funny and relatable content about owning a dog.

Body text
For body text, you can use various weights of the Glory font. There are many weights available, which comes in handy for longer texts like manuals!
I chose a font that looks strong and sturdy, to reflect the quality and toughness of Mister Mill's products, which makes them ideal for the outdoors. The letters are also rounded, to maintain a sense of friendliness.
Mister Mill sells products like grooming tools and toys for pets. They offer great quality and durability for a decent price, along with far-going customer service. Their products are mainly aimed towards those who like to explore the outdoors with their pets, and want to be all set and prepared when doing so. Mister Mill serves their customers with a friendly smile and a confident demeanour, befitting of their sturdy products. Eventually, they hope to fully provide people with everything they need to go on an adventure with their pets.

Companion app for Muscqler
Muscqler, a business selling high-end massaging devices, wanted to separate themselves from the competition, and commissioned me to design an app to accompany their products. The commission was relatively open-ended, and I plotted a design direction by researching their customers.
The app connects to a massage gun via Bluetooth, allowing users to view and follow instructions for massage routines, while the device performs the correct motions at the right time. There's also options for scheduling massages and viewing user statistics.
The opening side is the perfect place to display essential info. You can also place a link to a manual or companion app, like I did here.
On the front, I usually choose display an image of the product. Normally, I use a lifestyle image (a photo of the product being used), but in this case, the client needed the box before he could arrange a photoshoot. I used a product pic instead to create a clean and techy vibe.

Below, I highlight some unique selling points of the product with custom-made icons in the house style I developed.
Aside from being informative, a list of contents assures the user that every part they need is in the box.
On the back of tech products, I often display product pics with feature highlights, highlighting various qualities and capabilities.
Below this, you can see a list of  properties and specs; electronic products are required by law to display these on the box. They can be very informative, showing the customer what the product can and can't do.
Here, I highlight some important info about how to control the robot, above a photo edited to show the robot in use.
Dustify is an e-commerce company selling robotic cleaning devices. Their products are of a premium quality and easy to use and maintain. Since this product is aimed at those who want to make cleaning their house less of a hassle, Dustify also needed a clear and unambiguous quickstart guide to go along with their newly branded product.
In designing their house style, I combined dark-blue hues and pinstripe suit-like aesthetics with a vibrant orange and bold icons to reflect a professional and business oriented nature without compromising on the tirelessness and passion young entrepreneurs are known for.
PURPOSE DRIVEN COACHING
Because TNC wants to advertise on various platforms, they need to be visible and recognisable in various sizes and contexts. Therefore, I created in-line and icon versions of the logo, usable in any possible color.
The Next Chapter is a coaching program helping young entrepreneurs achieve their dreams by finding what makes them enthusiastic and passionate, and using that to fuel their ambitions. Aside from guiding individuals, they also organize networking events for their community, have launched a workbook for entrepreneurs, and more.
